A Life Changing Opportunity
Evans Scholarship at Lakeside

Elevate your golf experience with an Evans Scholar junior caddy today.

In 1930, the Western Golf Association and celebrated amateur golfer Charles “Chick” Evans Jr. established the Evans Scholars Foundation. The Foundation’s mission was to provide full tuition and board college scholarships to youth caddies with limited financial means. To qualify, caddies must meet the requirements of having a strong caddie record, excellent academics, financial need, and outstanding character. Since 2017, the Olympic Club at Lakeside has proudly supported this philanthropic junior caddy program.

MEET OUR
JUNIOR CADDIES

Chick Evans' devotion to caddies earned him a place in the Caddie Hall of Fame, which honors those who support caddies and their role in the game of golf. "The caddie is the lifeblood of the game of golf – a great companion, a friendly conversationalist, and a smiling face. This is what the game of golf is truly all about," Evans said.

EVANS SCHOLAR SUPPORTERS

The Evans Scholarship Supporters at Lakeside are a group of avid golfers committed to engaging our junior caddies regularly and spreading the word among our fellow Olympians. There is no financial commitment to be part of this group, just a willingness to give back to the next generation of our city’s youth.
